Call for applications - IdEx Master scholarships - 2025-2026 academic year
The Initiative of Excellence (IdEx) Université Grenoble Alpes is publishing the 2025 Master Scholarship program.
Applications to this programme are open to international students who apply for one of the Masters or Engineer degrees offered in one of the academic divisions of Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), namely ENSAG Grenoble, Grenoble INP, Sciences po Grenoble or Université Grenoble Alpes.
The scholarship doesn’t exempt students from paying tuition fees. This depends on each institution (ENSAG / IEP / INP / UGA). Please read the institution’s website for more information.
In February 2026, once the Master's supervisor has confirmed the student’s attendance over the 1st semester and their participation to the exams, the other half of the scholarship is paid.
Eligible international students can be foreign students:
- who are currently enrolled in a university outside France or
- who have obtained their last degree in a foreign university.
- who have obtained their "Baccalauréat" or equivalent in a foreign university even if they have studied afterwards in France.
- École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Grenoble (ENSAG),
- Institut polytechnique de Grenoble (Grenoble INP),
- Sciences Po Grenoble – School of Political Studies (IEP),
- Faculté des Sciences - Faculty of Sciences (FdS),
- Faculté Humanités, Santé, Sport, Sociétés – Faculty of Humanities, Health, Sports and Societies (H3S),
- Faculté d’économie de Grenoble - Economics Department,
- Faculté de droit de Grenoble - Grenoble Law School,
- Institut d'Urbanisme et de Géographie Alpine - Alpine Geography and Urban Planning Institute (IUGA).
- For the 1st or the second year of a Master degree (M1 / M2) or
- For the second or third year of an Engineer degree (Ingé 2A / 3A).
Amount of the scholarship and tuition fees:
The scholarship amounts to:- 9,000 euro for a M1 or Ingé 2A academic year (i.e. 2 study semesters)
- 5,500 euro for a M2 or Ingé 3A academic year.

Application process
The application process is as follows:- Apply for one of the Masters or Engineer degrees offered. The application must be for the 2025-2026 academic year. Application deadlines vary (see degree for more information);
- In most cases, applicants can apply for the scholarship when they apply for the degree, on the academic division website dedicated to master's and engineer degree applications ;
- The academic division selects students for the IdEx scholarship. Calendars vary and there can be a waiting list ;
- In all cases, the selection results are sent shortly after the admission committee has sat.
Scholarship payment process
In mid-October 2025, once the Master's supervisor has confirmed the student’s presence and attendance, half the scholarship is paid.In February 2026, once the Master's supervisor has confirmed the student’s attendance over the 1st semester and their participation to the exams, the other half of the scholarship is paid.

Eligibility Criteria of the University of Grenoble Alpes Idex Scholarship
The following are the eligibility criteria for the University of Grenoble Alpes Idex Master Scholarship
- The scholarship is awarded for one year; students must apply again for the second year of the Master's program (2025-2026 to 2025-2027).
- Selection is based on the student's academic record.
- The Master’s scholarship is competitive, with selection based on academic achievements.
- It’s important to note that the scholarship does not cover tuition fees, which vary by Master’s program.
- Students must apply for a Master's or Engineer degree at the University of Grenoble Alpes for the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Each Master's program has its application deadlines, which vary.
- Students can usually apply for the scholarship at the same time they apply for the Master's degree on the program's website.
- The University Division will select students for the IDEX scholarship.
- Scholarship results will be sent shortly after the Master's program admission results are announced.
- Applicants have the option to apply for either the first or second year of a Master’s degree or the second or third year of an Engineer’s degree, depending on their academic progression and career goals.

To apply for the University of Grenoble Alpes IDEX Master Scholarship, follow these steps:
