Study in Canada Scholarships

 

The Government of Canada offers several scholarship programs available to international student who are not enrolled in a Concordia degree program (non-degree). Funded by EduCanada, these scholarships are open to short-term undergraduate and graduate students from abroad who wish to undertake research or course-oriented exchanges at a Canadian institution. The goal of these scholarships is to help foster understanding among people, develop global citizens, nurture leaders and contribute to the development of nations.

About the Study in Canada Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, candidates must be citizens of a country/territory listed below

• Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Taiwan;
• Europe: Türkiye, Ukraine;
• Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia;
• Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda.

Scholarship value & duration

The scholarship value varies depending on the duration of studies:

• $10,200 CAD for undergraduate students for a minimum of four months or one academic term of study or research.
• $10,200 CAD for graduate students for a period of 4 months or one academic term.
• $12,700 CAD for graduate students (master's and PhD) for a period of 5 - 6 months of study or research.

Eligible expenses

Canadian institutions will disburse scholarship funds to the scholarship recipient to contribute to the following costs:

• visa or study/work permit fees;
• airfare, for the scholarship recipient only, to travel to Canada by the most direct and economical route and return airfare upon completion of the scholarship;
• health insurance;
• living expenses, such as accommodation, utilities and food;
• ground public transportation, including a public transportation pass; and
• books and supplies required for the recipient’s study or research, excluding computers and other equipment.

Choose your program

Pursue a master’s, PhD, diploma or certificate at Concordia to apply your skills creatively and practically. With nearly 130 graduate programs to choose from, you’re sure to find the fit for you.

Before applying, you should review the admission requirements and reach out to the Graduate Program Director for any questions you may have.

Application deadlines

Application deadlines vary by program. Priority will be given to complete applications submitted by the deadline. In some cases, programs may continue to accept applications if there is space available.

If you are an international student, we recommend that you apply as soon as possible considering the waiting period involved in receiving a study permit. We also strongly encourage you to submit supporting documents prior to the deadline

Application tips

Here are some general tips to improve your application experience:

• If you have a pop-up blocker in your browser, turn it off.

• Don't use the Back button in your browser.

• Be sure to click Save and Exit if you need to leave your application for any reason.

• Have relevant digital files or scanned documents ready to be uploaded.

• Have PDF copies of your transcripts and other supporting documents ready to be uploaded

• Have a valid credit card or debit card available to pay the application fee of $100.00 CAD ($17.00 CAD for Independent graduate students), or $40.00 CAD for a microprogram. The application fee is non-refundable and cannot be waived.
