University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarship 2025

 

The University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarship for the 2025 academic year offers international students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in New Zealand with financial support.

🎓 Scholarship Overview

• Value: Up to NZD $15,000 towards tuition fees.

• Study Levels: Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Taught).

• Subject Areas: All disciplines, including Arts, Business & Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Education, Health, Engineering, Law, Māori & Indigenous Studies, Science, and Social Sciences.

• Eligibility: New international students enrolling for the first time at the University of Waikato.

• Application Deadlines:

  • 30 November for A Trimester offers.

  • 30 April for B Trimester offers.

  • 31 August for C Trimester offers.

  • 31 October for H or X Trimester offers.

• Closing Date: 31 December 2025.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

• Academic Requirements: Minimum GPA equivalency of B+ in the qualification used for university admission.

• Enrollment Status: Must be a new international student enrolling full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate program.

• Offer of Place: Must have a conditional or unconditional offer of place from the University of Waikato.

• Exclusions: Not available to students sponsored by a government, institution, or employer, or those coming through a Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, study abroad, or student exchange agreement.

💰 Scholarship Benefits

• Undergraduate Students:

  • One-year tenure: Between NZD $2,500 and $8,000.

  • Two-year tenure: Between NZD $2,500 and $12,000 (no more than $8,000 in the first year and no more than $4,000 in the second year).

  • Three-year tenure: Between NZD $2,500 and $15,000 (no more than $8,000 in the first year, no more than $4,000 in the second year, and no more than $3,000 in the third year).

• Postgraduate Students: Between NZD $2,500 and $15,000, applied to one or more years of study.

📝 Application Process

1. Apply to Enroll: Complete an application to enroll at the University of Waikato before applying for the scholarship.

2. Access MyWaikato: Log into MyWaikato and click on the ‘Scholarships’ tab.

3. Select Scholarship: Choose the Vice Chancellor's International Excellence Scholarship from the list of available scholarships.

4. Submit Documents: Upload your conditional or unconditional offer of place and provide specific details explaining why you want to study at the University of Waikato and how you will be a global ambassador for the university.
