The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) of the Slovak Republic for the academic year 2025–2026 is now open for applications. This programme, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of Slovakia, supports international mobility for students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists to undertake study, research, teaching, or artistic stays at Slovak higher education institutions and research organisations.

📅 Scholarship Stay Period

  • Students: From 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026

  • PhD students, university teachers, researchers, and artists: From 1 September 2025 to 30 November 2026

💰 Scholarship Amounts

  • Master’s students: €620 per month

  • PhD students: €1,025.50 per month

  • University teachers, researchers, and artists:

    • Without PhD and less than 4 years of experience: €1,025.50 per month

    • With PhD and less than 10 years of experience: €1,370 per month

    • With PhD and more than 10 years of experience: €1,470 per month

✈️ Travel Allowance (for students and PhD candidates)

PhD students and students may apply for a travel allowance based on the distance between their home country and Slovakia:

  • Up to 200 km: €0

  • 201–300 km: €50

  • 301–500 km: €100

  • 501–1,000 km: €250

  • 1,001–2,000 km: €350

  • 2,001–3,000 km: €500

  • 3,001–5,000 km: €750

  • 5,001–7,000 km: €1,100

  • Over 7,000 km: €1,500 

📝 Application Process

  1. Online Application: Complete the application form at www.scholarships.sk before the deadline.

  2. Original Documents: Submit the original admission/invitation letter to SAIA, n.o., Bratislava, by 3 May 2025. 

🌍 Eligibility

Citizens from any country worldwide, except Slovakia, are eligible to apply. Applicants must not have been studying, teaching, or researching in Slovakia at the time of submitting their application.
